Back in 1750, the Dutch established a Rum distillery in the Guyanese village of Uitvlugt and produced a heavy style Rum. More than two centuries later, the government privatized sugar plantations and by 2000, the Uitvlugt Distillery was closed down.

This lush XO expression was distilled in 1993, while the Bonpland distillery finished it for six months in Grand Cru wine barriques from Weingut Brenhard Huber, the top German producer of Pinot Noir.

It’s extremely rare, fruity and slightly smoky. If we were cheeky, we’d say it’s Rumarkable.

Looks great in display cabinet...

Looks great in display cabinet! Smallish bottle but draws attention. No clue on aromas and flavors as it’s currently relegated to the eyes only section. I’m more collector than drinker.
