A lower proof version of America’s #1 selling premium Bourbon.

In 1869, the Ripy Brothers started distilling on Wild Turkey Hill near Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The namesake product became their number one seller and the name of the distillery was changed to reflect that success. The Ripy Family sold the distillery in 1952, and then the normal rounds of mergers and acquisition occurred. Campari Group out of Italy owns them now and they produce several acclaimed brands, including a wide range of Bourbons under the Wild Turkey name, which is one of the most well-known Bourbon Brands in the world.

Like all Wild Turkey Bourbons, Wild Turkey 81 Proof is aged in the deepest charred barrels — #4 alligator char. Created by the famous father-son Master Distiller duo, comprised of Jimmy and Eddie Russel, this is a lower strength release from the brand. Due to the higher rye content and the classic heavy char aging, however, the dram is just as packed with flavor and complexity as their 101 version (America’s #1 selling premium Bourbon, BTW); minus the heat.
