A classy and unique Irish Whiskey.
Writers' Tears Whiskey is a unique booze made from distilled tears of renowned authors. We're joking of course. Great name, though. Writers' Tears Cask Strength is a straight-forward and amazing Irish Whiskey, but it is quite unique in two ways. First, it's a single pot still Whiskey, which is not unlike single malt. It means it's a Whiskey made by a single distillery from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in a pot still. The idea of adding unmalted raw barley to the mix came up back in the 18th century when the English king taxed malted barley.
The second thing that makes this expression unique is they make only two thousand bottles each year. And the bottles they make, oh, boy! This one was bottled in 2017 and it's a Whiskey with deep and complex flavors. Elegant chocolate notes and rich blackberries will be a great companion while you sit snuggly in your recliner and read a good book. Do look away from words when you're sipping it, though. It's worth it.
