All about Tarquin's

Tarquin’s Gin, named after Master Distiller and Founder of the Southwestern Distillery, was first produced in 2013, and captures the spirit of the Cornish coast where it is made. Tarquin’s Gin is the first to be made in Cornwall for over 100 years, and is a contemporary take on a classic style.

Hand crafted in small batches, everything is done the old fashioned way, with botanicals selected by sight and feel, the still heated by fire and judged by eye, and all bottles individually filled, corked, sealed labeled and waxed by hand.

Tarquin’s Gin features botanicals from all over the world (juniper, coriander, fresh citrus peels, angelica, orris, cardamom, almond, cinnamon and liquorice), as well as locally picked Devon violets. The Gin is distilled and cut with fresh Cornish water, which adds a natural sweetness to the drink.

All about Tarquin's distillery

The Southwestern Distillery was founded in 2011 on the Cornish coast, but it wasn’t until mid-2013 that the first batch of Gin was sold. Today, the company produces a number of Gins under their Tarquin's brand, as well as Pastis, all lovingly made on one site in Cornwall.

Founder and Distiller Tarquin Leadbetter oversees every single batch made in the distillery. Every batch is tasted, and every bottle signed by the man himself. The family-run business is traditional in its approach, and everything is hand bottled, hand labeled and hand sealed.

With just 300 bottles per batch, you can be sure that quality and attention to detail goes into every bottle. The distillery’s location on the Cornish coast means that locally sourced Cornish water powers the distillery and goes into every one of its products.
