Starting as Winemakers, the Frapin family has been producing Spirits in Southwest France since 1270. Think about that for a moment — nearly 750 years! More than twenty generations... They started distilling a few hundred years ago and now nearly all of the fruit from their 316 hectare estate is planted with Ungi-Blanc grapes and used to produce Cognac. All Cognac spend a quarter of their aging in new Limousin oak casks, and the remainder in older casks to build character. Their line includes four core Spirits, several special and very rare editions, and even a house perfume… because they’re French.

Everyone raves about Frapin Cognac XO VIP. Not only is Frapin one of the most respected and consistent labels in the business, but this particular edition is universally acclaimed. That almost never happens. Even the most jaded Spirits industry journalists would swap their Apple iPhones for a snifter of this nectar. It’s everything great about Frapin Cognac in an XO package — smooth, creamy, elegant, and flavorful. Next year, all XO Cognacs will be required to age a minimum of ten years (the current French law states six). But to our taste, Frapin Cognac XO VIP exceeds even next year’s standards.
