Learn more >One of the more mature Tullibardines.
If we set out to find the oldest brewing and distilling spot in Scotland, Tullibardine would definitely be in the running. Back in the 15th century, King James IV — a young, strapping man — stopped in to the local brewery here on the way to his coronation. The old brewery was transformed into a distillery back in 1946 and has become a solid maker of Single Malt Whisky. After a brief closing in 1995, it was brought back to life in 2003 — and we’re all pretty happy about that. They produce a wide range of aged Single Malts, several finished "double-wood" Whiskies, and some older limited editions — any of them a solid and approachable daily dram.
Distilled right after the distillery reopened, Tullibardine 15 Year Old is a Highland Single Malt and one of their most mature releases. It was aged in first-fill Bourbon casks, which means plenty of creamy and honeyed notes for us, the drinkers. Savor the juicy flavors of scones, strawberry jam, sweet barley sugar, and warming spice neat or with a drop of water. Ideally pair with some delectable Highland Chocolate, kick back, and relax.
