A Peat project gone Stellar!
Smokehead is a peat project of Ian Macleod Distillers, a family company that has been producing different Whisky for three generations. The identity of the exact distillery is unknown and the mystery to this almost cult brand has got a firm base of thirsty followers. The approach to the production of this phenolic Islay malt is as fresh and crisp as this straightforward dram itself. As the Whisky industry searches for new ways of presenting and selling their products, there are those few that start a new wave of something different. And that is what this peat bullet is all about as it goes away from classic Scotch drinkers and lures more drinkers into this peaty, smoky and heathery cave!
Smokehead is a rich, seaweedy, and intensely peated Islay malt Whisky. It bears no age statement and we don’t know in which barrels it was matured. But, hey, we don’t care as long as we can take a ride on this explosive rollercoaster of peat, smoke and spice!

Appeareance / Color
Amber gold.
Smell / Nose
Smoke alarm! Thick and full of peat, salt and spices, a real cannonball!
Flavor / Taste / Palate
Again a new hit of peat, coming behind there are herbs, a touch of sherry some fruity sweetness and of course some more smoke!
Finish
A long salty and strong finish with all of the above mentioned sensational feelings. A young, vibrant and powerful dram we may say.
